ProjectWise Explorer Help

ProjectWise Integration Options Dialog

Used to control whether or not you receive notifications about changes related to the central file (when you have open a local copy of a central file), or changes to linked files.

Opens when you click the Options button in the ProjectWise panel of the Bentley ribbon tab in Revit.

Notifications tab

SettingDescription
Central File change reminder interval Sets the frequency, in minutes, that ProjectWise integration checks the ProjectWise server for changes to the central file, if the file you have open is a local copy of a central file. Central file change notifications appear briefly in the lower-right corner of the Revit application window, and then disappear after (about) a few seconds.

Once you receive a notification that the central file has been changed, it is up to you to decide whether or not you want to reload those changes into the open local copy.

If the reminder interval is set to No reminders, then ProjectWise integration never checks the ProjectWise server for changes to the central file.

Notify me about ownership changes This setting is on by default, and is used to control whether or not, in addition to general central file change notifications, you receive notifications about any ownership changes that are made to the central file. Ownership change notifications also appear briefly in the lower-right corner of the Revit application window, and then disappear after (about) a few seconds.

If this setting is off, then ProjectWise integration never checks the ProjectWise server for ownership changes made in the central file. You can turn this setting off individually, or you can turn it off by setting the Central File change reminder interval to No reminders, which disables this option.

Notify me when I lock and unlock documents This setting is on by default, and controls whether or not you receive notifications if one of your actions in integrated Revit happens to lock or unlock the central file. These notifications also appear in the lower-right corner of the Revit application window, and then disappear after (about) a few seconds.

After receiving a notification, you should let other users (whom this may affect) know that you have locked or unlocked the central file. The status of the Central File change reminder interval option does not affect this setting, so you may opt to receive notifications about when you have locked or unlocked the central file, while turning off the option to receive central file change notifications.

Link(s) change reminder interval Sets the frequency, in minutes, that ProjectWise integration checks the ProjectWise server for changes to files that are linked to the open file in Revit. If one or more linked files have been changed during the reminder interval, a ProjectWise dialog opens in Revit called the Select Documents to Reload dialog. In this dialog you select which of the changed documents you want to reload, and click OK. This downloads the changed files to your ProjectWise working directory. To load the changes into the open file, you need to open Revit’s Manage Links dialog and reload the links. For procedures, see Managing Revit Links in ProjectWise.

If you cancel the Select Documents to Reload dialog without downloading any of the changed links, or if you only download some of the links listed, the Select Documents to Reload dialog will continue to reappear every so many minutes (also based on the number of minutes set in the Link(s) change reminder interval setting) until you have downloaded all the changed links.

If set to No reminders, then ProjectWise integration never checks the ProjectWise server for changed links.

Notify me without Select Documents To Reload dialog This setting is on by default, and suppresses the display of the Select Documents To Reload dialog when link polling detects links that have been updated. Link update notifications will continue to appear briefly in the lower-right corner of the Revit application window.

Resolve Links tab

SettingDescription
Resolve links on open When on (the default), and you open a Revit file from ProjectWise Explorer, the Resolve Links dialog opens automatically if the file contains broken links, or links that are pointing to local documents. Use the controls in the dialog to fix any or all of the links as needed.
